Arrival Story: He was born in my house from Whisper and Ornery.

Bio: Mr. Sneakers was the first born in a litter of 4. He was born in the middle of my mom's queen size bed. Then following him was a sister, then a still born brother, then another sister. Mr. Sneakers was without a doubt the dominant one of the litter, he was bigger, fluffier, and had more spunk than the two girls. One of his sisters passd away at 2 weeks old from breathing complicatins due to under developed lungs. That left just him and Snuggles. One day shy of Mr. Sneakers and Snuggles turning 2 mos old, my dog Baby Girl got up on our kitchen counter and knocked heavy duty glass baking dish off the counter and it landed on Mr. Sneakers' head.

Mr. Sneakers was the light of my life, and my best friend, and my partner in crime. He was mischievious, and carefree as all 2 month old kittens should be! But one day shy of two months old he sustained a traumatic baking dish to the head. From there his life as nothing the same. He lost all movement in his left side, and could only be rehabilitated by physical therepy. He was on meds every 2 hours, wich included an eye lubracant, steroids, and anit-biotics. Eating schedule was every 2-3 hrs. Needless to say he needed attention 'round the clock... this time for survival reasons not just because he wanted to be cuddled. He endured 4 months of roller coaster like conditions. Full of many many more ups than downs. In the four months had only encountered very few downfalls: a diabetic sezure, the dog sitting on him, and a needle mis-guided into the muscles in his neck. He had progressed so much and at nearly 6 months old was only about the size of an 8 week old kitten, because the accident and the prednizone (steroids) had stunted his growth. Dispite all the progress he had made and even the suport he had recieved from around the world (he had his own web site), and from his little sister, Snuggles, not to mention all his human friends and family, just one day shy of 6 monthgs old his dibetes took hold of him again, this time it kept hold and he passed away in the middle of the night. I stayed awake with him alll the while he needed his meds, his every 2 hr feedings/water, his physical therepy, and slept very little in those 4 months. The only time I would sleep was for an hour or so after my mom got home from work, in wich she took care of him just so I could sleep. I still love Mr. Sneakers, and he is still my best friend in spirit. Sometimes when I'm thinking about being a little mischievious I think I feel a small furry brush across my ankle, and the weight of an 8 week old kitten on my big toe to remind me that he's still there to help me get into trouble.
