Tortoiseshell Silver

She loves eating and sleeping, she loves attention and demands it, and she enjoys sharing conversations with everyone.

Patches, Leo when he wants to play, not getting the attention that she demands, and not being fed on time.

Favorite Toy:
Catnip mice, the laser pointer, and she loves boxes. She has shoe boxes around the house.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Under the bed, in dresser drawers, in the cat condo, in her boxes, on the beds, by a window, anywhere.

Favorite Food:
The wet food I give them every now and then, and Greenies.

She tells me when the water bowl is empty, she loves to talk, and extremely outgoing.

Arrival Story:
I went to the Humane Educational Society at the end of May '06 with hopes that they found Garfield (RIP). But something happened the opposite way that morning. We went to the last room with cats to check. I checked through the first few cages before I noticed one cage in particular. I finished looking through the meowing cats to look at this one. She was the only one not paying any attention to us the whole time. She started moving and ate some. My sister was with me and she poked her fingers through the cage, hoping the cat would respond. She stared at my sister and went back to eating. My sis gave up and moved to look at others. I leaned in and lowered down to be at the cat's level and I made my clicky sound. She looked at me and came over. I smiled widely as she jabbed her nose on the door trying to rub my fingers. I listened to her purr and let her giant green eyes mesmerize me. At first, I thought she was Arlene (RIP). She looked just like her, but she had an adorable black nose. It was too soon for us to leave and I told Saki that she would find a perfect home soon. I watched her eye my as we left. We got to the desk before leaving and I hesitated a moment thinking of Saki and I quickly asked if I could see her again. I rushed back to the room and there was a volunteer back there. I asked if I could hold Saki. She crawled into my arms, purring like a motor, and touched my nose with her's. She sat cradled in my arms, purring, and looking at me. I hugged her close and asked if we could have her. A week later, we rushed to the vet to pick her up after her appointment and rushed her to her new home. It was a big turn around for me. I never thought I'd be bringing home a cat after my major losses of Arlene and Garfield. But Saki was waiting for me, ready to spend our lives together.

Saki was there with me during my hard times after my loss of Arlene and Garfield. She drove away the bad thoughts of them suffering and passing away. She pulled me into the good and happy thoughts of them. Saki made me smile when I thought I couldn't... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HONORABLE DAYS Daily Diary Pick: 11/13/07, 2/6/08 Groups: Kitty of the Week in The 3 Amigos 7/6/08

Saki's Sayings

A Hole in the Wall

Everyone else got to update their diaries so it's my turn! Well, there is this 1/2-1 inch opening all along the bottom frame of the big windows in mommy's room that's about 6 feet long. The hole is in the wall and you can see some insulation in it. Ever since about sometime yesterday morning, Leo and I have had this interest in it. But this hole has always been there.

Mommy thinks it's kind of creepy. Last night I was sitting on the floor and just staring at it. A few hours ago, it was both me and then Leo starring at it. And then a little bit ago, Leo tried sticking his paw in it until mommy had him stop. It's so strange!

There could be something in there, maybe we hear the wind blowing in there. There was a lady bug stuck between the window and the blinds for awhile so there's a chance it could have gone down there and it's flying around. Mommy isn't sure and she doesn't like us sticking our paws in there. She's most likely gonna have it sealed up somehow.

But it's just so strange....

Must be Vet Season...

Mommy took Luca to the vet earlier this evening cause he was acting differently. His results are in his latest diary entry. As for me, I have already gone twice in the past two weeks. First for my tail cause I wouldn't raise and seemed hurt from it. Second from having diarrhea and sneezing consistently.

There may be a third for me... not entirely sure. My right ear has started to bug me yesterday, we think, and it keeps bugging me. I keep poking and scratching at it and keep my ear titled along with my head.

Mommy took a peek in my ear and saw some brown between the tight spaces of my ear at the very bottom in the opening. She tried to wipe it out but she didn't want to hurt me cause I was complaining.

Just so much with us and going to the vet. Mommy is laughing, wondering if they know her name and face by heart yet.

I am not officially going back to the vet, but we shall see.

Another Vet Visit

Mommy was hoping to take me to the vet yesterday but she got home after 5pm and they close at 6pm. She gave them a call and asked to see if she should bring me in and they said yes. So as soon as mommy got home today, around 3:30pm, she dragged me back to the vet.

The car ride was interesting... she asked me how I was doing and we talked about our day. We get there and I'm crying in the cage with my loud voice. Then we're taken back into the room and the technician came in to see me and she asked mommy how to say my name correctly. Then she says hello to me and tells me she heard me all the way in the back MOL.

She checks my weight, apparently I gained a bit since my last visit, and she comes back with another technician for help to get a stool sample. This was not a pleasant moment.

Then they take it back to be tested and Dr. Myers comes in and he asks mommy questions while he feels all around me. Then he takes my temperature and goes to the back to see the results.

After a bit they come back and he tells mommy I had Coccidiosis where my stool has a lot of bacteria and wasn't sure what may have caused this to happen. So he's having mommy give me Albon every 12 hours for a few days until I clear up.

They also attached a note to the receipt explaining it some more and that it can be passed to non-infected animals. So mommy is gonna have to keep a close eye on Leo. She's also going to scrub the litterbox clean sometime this week to be sure and will check the dates and labels on our wet food. I had wet food before I got sick.

I had some of the icky medicine tonight at 6:30pm. It is yellow this time. My Amoxicillin was pink. And it smells like sweet lemons.

Hopefully I'll clear up soon!
