Well, it was close, but I have now adjusted to drinking 2 percent milk instead of the half and half. It has been rough! Although, Meowmmy bought some half and half last week for something she was making and I got some! Yum!! What a treat!
Yesterday I begged for a bath so Meowmmy gave me one. I felt much better afterwards. The Frontline doesn't quite take care of all the fleas, but it does pretty good. I haven't had any bald spots for several months now. If you are a cat - it helps to be a fully-furred cat!

DIET??? I did not volunteer for anything like this! I LIKE my 21 pounds!!
But mommy said she was going to "change her lifestyle". Well... That's okay. I reckon. Unless it affects ME!!! And it does!
She no longer drinks half and half in her coffee... So Daddy won't buy it "just for the cats"... THAT, fellow Catsters, means I am NOT getting my twice-a-day portion of half and half.
I am now a 14 pound weakling. Just from mommy not drinking half and half in her coffee anymore.
**sigh** It's a rough life!!

Yep - mom and dad were gone for ... TEN DAYS!!!!
They went to visit my Aunt Linda and Aunt Alice and see My cousins - Chazz and Sallie....
I took care of the house while they were gone. Callie and I faithfully patrolled the house keeping out all intruders. We told the goats several times when they were out of their pen that they were SUPPOSED to be where they belonged. But - I certainly didn't want to SMELL like THEM so I just stayed in the house - where we were nice and snug - and watched them. Not MY problem!
But, Mom and Dad came home yesterday, I got picked up and carried around - mom kissed on me and snuggled me and told me what a PRECIOUS baby I am!
I knew it....

Yep, she now has managed to get the Omega Kitty spayed, now we are hoping to finsd her a home. Posters have been made and put up around town in the grocery store and the farm store.
I have decided that mom's pillow is the BEST place in the house to sleep. Doesn't matter if she's sleeping on it or not - I belong there. And I'm big enough to move her if I need to claim MY spot! Ahhh... the feel of a nice fluffy pillow.
Well, I did discover today that my fluffy butt will NOT fit into a cake pan. I tried and tried. Only if I put my front feet outside the pan will I fit. I really, most of all, love to sit on TOP of mom's cake carrier though. I don't know why she makes a fuss about it - I only get SOME of the icing from the cake stuck to the inside of the top.... there's still plenty on the sides!
The toaster.... oh, boy, the toaster - FUN to watch!!!

Yes indeed... My fur grew back just like Momma promised! I look SO handsome!
We are quiet saddened, however, because now there is a momma cat and 5 kittens in the back yard. The momma looks a lot like my little Tortie sister, Calley. The kittens are adorable, of course - I mean, who ever saw an ugly kitten?!?!
Anyway, there is one little balck kitty, two oranges, and two orange and white that my mom calls "Dreamsicle Kittens". We haven't seen them in a couple of days, but mom is hopeful they will return - after all, she has now taught them that they can get food and water here.

Ahhh.... Mom got some Frontline for my fleas and the raw patch has cleared up - but now the scab is coming off my fur is coming with it! Not to worry... I'm sure the fur will grow back.

I guess I have decided to be sensitive to my flea shampoo. Mom gave me a bath Friday because she saw a few of the pesky little things - then I just laid down in Dad's favorite chair and stayed there - for about 24 hours! Mom was SO worried about me.
Yesterday, she put me back in the tub and gave me a bath with HER shampoo - and I started geting better.
I have a big place under my fur at the back of my head that is bloody and raw looking. I like mom to rub it - gently! But I'm getting around better now, and even laying on mom's lap purring some.
I guess I'll have to let her use the electronic flea zapping comb on me, but I sure hate the noise it makes!

Hector: Wow! Mom and Dad were going to do a little late celebrating of their anniversary. Poor Mom, she had been sick for over a week, and I had been doing my very best to make her better..... I almost never left her side.
But, anyway.... Dad decided we were all going to Branson to celebrate - and while we were all gone Dad was going to set off those smoke bombs in the house... the kind that kill bugs.
Callie: Hey! What's wrong with bugs??? They're FUN to play with!
Hector: Well.... Our Auntie almost died from an infection a few years ago after she was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider. Mom had killed 3 of them last week so she said they HAD to go!
So... Callie and I were packed into our crate and off we went. Dad checked us into our usual motel room.... They even waived part of the usual "pet fee" because they said that... ahem.... their cat was unusually "well behaved"!
Callie: Hey! That's ME!!!!!
Hector: Well... I don't think they were talking about YOU; they had never even MET you before!
Callie: Yeah, but they know me NOW!
Hector: Well, yeah, now they do.
Anyhow... We checked into the motel, Mom made sure we were wearing proper ID and collars of course, and they took a nap.
I checked out the room, as usual, to make sure it was still up to my high standards.
So, they went to their show and were gone a while and came back not too late....
Callie: Yeah! Mom brought me CHICKEN!!!!!!
Hector: Yeah, it smelled okay, but I prefer my cat food. But Callie got some chicken - after I carefully inspected it. So, we spent the night. The next morning it was snowing! Brrrr!! Good thing Mom had packed our favorite kitty blankie in the bottom of our crate! A cat could freeze off his.... oh - wait - I don't have any to freeze off!
So, anyway - we got home and mom and dad were watching TV, all the lights were off and all of a sudden, a most wondrous thing happened.... a mouse FLEW past me!!!!! Yes, it was a mouse with WINGS! And it could FLY!!! Oh happy day! A flying mouse! I heard Dad say, "Hey! I think I saw a bat!"
Mom said , "gee, I hope not!"
Then, a few minutes later - it flew by again! Then I heard Mom say, "AAACCCKKKK!!!!! That IS a bat!"
Callie: I was following it around when Mom saw it... then it swooped up high, looped around and BUZZED her! It was a BLAST!!!!
Hector: Now, Callie..... Poor Mom, no wonder her hair is gray.... And a very lovely shade of gray, I assure all of you...
Anyway Dad asked Mom what they should do and Mom said just hope it finds its way out of the house like it found its way in... But I saw her looking up "bat" on the internet Monday morning.....
And Monday night, as the folks were laying around watching TV, Callie and I once again saw the flying mouse! It swooped all over the laundry room! Then it swooped into the TV room.... I heard Mom shreik and she jumped up and grabbed a towel....
Callie: I went to help! I was up on the back of the computer chair then the recliner....
Hector: I took up a very strategic post on the top of the back of the recliner in the laundry room! The mouse flew betewwn the two rooms for a while, Mom was jumping all over the place, waving her towel around. Uh... it was QUITE a sight! I almost caught the mouse a couple of times... But Mom kept yelling at me not to touch it...
Callie: Then I came into the laundry room to help....
Hector: Yeah, and as soon as Mom had us kitties in one room and the flying mouse in the other room - she shut the door! Darn it!!!!!!
So, then I saw Dad get up and pick up a shirt from the clean laundry pile (good thing there's a window in the laundry room door!).... He got the flying mouse with one swoop. But, then, Mom said that all the baseball he played in high school gave him superior catching skills.... I didn't know people needed to catch mice! Is "baseball" code for a game that is played with mice?
Anyway, Mom told me that they set the flying mouse free. She kept calling it a bat! HEY! Maybe that's where the baseball thing comes in - NOW I get it!

It's only 4 degrees here this morning... Brrr! Good thing Mom insisted on buying the heated mattress pad for her and dad's king-size bed. Ahhhh... I sleep nice and warm there, snuggled right next to mom. When she gets up I do too, usually - I gotta keep an eye on her - she fell down a flight of stairs last week and she hurt for quite a while.
Back to my job....
