Arrival Story:
Violet was a neighbor's cat who really didn't care whether they had him or not. He spent a lot of time at our house because he liked our bird feeder. I didn't like seeing him outside in the winter, so he became an inside cat in the winter. I've tried to make Violet an inside cat entirely, but he still loves to go out just for a few minutes each day if the weather is nice. He has never gone back to his original home, and they have never inquired about him. That was several years ago, so he is officially our cat now!

Bio:
When I realized where Violet lived, I called and asked why the cat was named Violet if he was a male. The previous owners didn't know when they got the cat that she was a he - and named her Violet. Violet is a very vocal cat. Different cries mean different things. The cry for "I want to go outside" is hilarious - long, drawn out, and so pitiful! If he doesn't get his way, he heads straight for one particular chair to show Mawmee that the claws need sharpening. That is about all it takes for him to go outside. Violet is also a very affectionate cat. He loves to have his face stroked, and likes to knead on your lap. Unlike his sister, Samoa, Violet is loud and walks down the stairs like a herd of elephants! He also likes to play with and groom Calvin. They are so funny to watch. It doesn't take long for a grooming session to turn into a wrestling match!

Coud it Be?

Wowza, I'm a diary pick today! When I went to my page to put this honor on the list, I discovered that I haven't been a diary pick since 2008??? OMC, could that be true? Maybe I need to write more in my diary so that the diary gal will pick me more often.

Thanks to all my pals who are making this a pawsome day. I have been having some problems with my Clavamox. It is giving me runny poopies. Mawmee is going to call the vet today to see if they want to switch me to another antibiotic. I still have three days left for the Clavamox. I've been eating better, so I guess my mouth is feeling better!

I wanted to tell you about the visitor we had to our Beagle Dog Rock. BDR is a big rock outside out backyard. It looks just like a beagle dog. We see birds on the rock a lot, and the other day, Daddy looked out and yelled for all of us to come look at the coyote!

Mawmee ran to get the camera, went out in the backyard, and he was still sitting on the rock - probably looking for a bunny for breakfast. Here are a couple of pictures of Mr. Wiley!

On a different subject, please keep Ko in your purrs. She found out at her dentist visit that she has a large mass in her jaw that has destroyed some of her jawbone. The biopsy results will be back this coming week. Her brother, Orvis, is keeping us all up to date in his diary.

I'm glad to see that Tate had a good dental visit, and he now has a microchip too! Way to go, Tate!

February is dental month, and most vets offer a discount if you need to get your toofies cleaned.

Gotta Wear Shades!

Butter of Da Tabbies O Trout Towne told me that groundhog tomorrow might have to wear shades so he isn't blinded by my bright toofies! I think all my siblings should wear them too.

I decided last night that I was only thirsty, so I didn't have anything to eat before I went to bed. This morning, I was really hungry, and I took my antibiotic pill in a pill pocket and then Mawmee squirted the pain medicine in my mouth. I was very good!

Thanks again for all the purrs. Going to the dentist can be scary. I'm purring for Cuppycakes Tate because he has a dentist appointment on Friday! I hope he doesn't have any toofies that need pulled.

I'm kind of bummed that I didn't have a toofie to bring home and put under my pillow but since they had to drill it out, there was nothing to bring home!

Have a pawsome day, and don't forget to wear shades!

Home Sweet Home!

I'm home!

The vet lady said I was very good and a very nice cat. I like her too. They gave me my pain medication and my antibiotics before I left so Mawmee doesn't have to start giving me those until tomorrow.

And guess what? I got before and after pictures - just like in the magazines! My toofies are sparkling white now, and I've ditched that toofie that was giving me problems.

I drank some water when I got home, but I'm pretty sleepy, so I haven't eaten anything. Mawmee was impressed that I wasn't as loopy and acting like a drunken sailor like we used to be in Kentucky when we went under anesthesia.

Mawmee said she remembered when she and Daddy took a tour of the place that they have this awesome equipment that helps you come out of anesthesia quicker and better than ever.

Thanks to my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Rocky Ann, for gathering all my angel pals today and keeping an eye on me while I was at the vet's office. I'm glad my thyroid doesn't bother Rocky Ann - for a minute I thought maybe she was going to find another BFF because of my thyroid - MOL!

And this vet place even gave us the $50 discount they are offering for dental visits the month of February - and February isn't until tomorrow!

Overall, the price was more than $150 lower than the first place, and the first place didn't even factor in medicine or my toofie removal, so we definitely made the right decision.
