Quick Bio:

Coloration: Brown Tabby
Likes: Wet food, dry food, fresh food, not-so fresh food, anything remotely related to food, breakfast, dinner, snacks in-between, head bunting, group hugs, being brushed, running up and down the hallway like a horse, and climbing onto Mike's shoulder
Pet-Peeves: Aluminum foil, plastic bag (he got trapped in it once in search for food. Now the noise freaked him out)
Favorite Toy: Any homemade toy on a fishing rod, Da Bird, hiding and chasing after a toy in his tunnel toy, the Bunker Box, chasing after pin pong ball, and playing tag with an imaginary friend.
Favorite Nap Spot: There are several spots: morning--his basket by the window in the breakfast room, afternoon--chair by the window in the dining room, evening--wherever we are, night--on my bed
Favorite Food: It's A LOT quicker to name the food he DOESN'T like-- diet foods. Nemo thinks they hurt his self-esteem. He's on raw diet. Let me sum up his eating habit in one simple statement--he sees supplement pills as treats. Need I say more?
Skills: Nemo responds to: come, no, sit, lay down, up, off, in, tunnel (go through a tunnel), go, come on, shake hands, crate (go into his carrier), and backpack (go into his backpack). He can also jump 5+ feet straight up in the air when playing.
Dwells:
indoors
Arrival Story: We adopted Nemo from the local SPCA a few weeks before Christmas (2005). The staff highly recommended "Fabulous boy" (his name at the SPCA) when we asked for a sweet, affectionate cat. Nemo was sleeping in the "hide and perch" box when we got there. His big head and body completely filled up the box that he almost looked stuck in there! When Mike picked Nemo up he right away relaxed in Mike's arms. First thing I said when I held Nemo was: "MY GOODNESS! YOU ARE HEAVY!" I couldn't hold him standing up for long so I sat down on a chair nearby and put him on my lap. A minute later he started head-butting me! This earned a big round of "awwww" from the "audience" in the SPCA. That day we stayed until the SPCA closed and went to pick him up at 9:00am sharp the next day (before anybody walked in!)
They told us that Nemo came in as stray. The vet we went to confirmed this but she said that Nemo might have belonged to someone at one point because he was so affectionate to people.
Ever since Nemo came to our house, he never caused any trouble! He's had some medical problems but he is a model citizen+the most loving pet otherwise.
Later on we found out that Nemo was infected with FIV. This explains why anybody would abandon a wonderful cat like Nemo. This devastating news saddened us a lot but at least we can make sure that he will live out his years safe and happy. He won't ever have to worry about being abandoned anymore.
Bio: Nemo has a what I called "Ikea-oatmeal-cookie" face. He has these BIG, ROUND cheeks and tiny little nose and mouth. Apparently the chubby cheeks is an indication of a real, manly cat who is neutered late in life.
Nemo's fangs were extracted on May 16, 2006. They were all badly chipped from fighting with other cats on the streets and the gum was quite bad. To prevent bacteria getting into his bloodstream from the cracks, we decided to have them removed. Now he's known as Sir Sans Fangsisco around here.
As an ex-street cat, it's amazing how trusting Nemo is. He was a sweet and undemanding cat already when we adopted him. But he has become even gentler and more tolerant each month. Now we're able to do almost anything to him without getting him upset. He shows his appreciation for our kindness with such love and grace. I can't stop thinking what an amazingly gentle soul he would've been if he had not experienced the harsh life of a stray cat.
On May 5 2007, the most beautiful day in our memory, the most wonderful news came from Dr.Liz--Nemo's retest on FIV showed NEGATIVE result! Whether the first result was false or Nemo fought off the FIV virus in the past year and a half, we will continue to do what we've been doing to make sure that he'll stay healthy!
In December 2007, instead of using an in-house test kit at our vet, we decided to do a Western Blot test (FIV confirmation test). The result showed that Nemo was FIV positive. It is a sad news but we know that Nemo is happy and healthy at the moment. What more can we ask? Besides, Nemo has agreed to stick around for a long, long time. We are shooting for at least 20 years old! :-)

He has 4 beds with fantastic views we only have one with a view of a sink and toilet.
He eats human grade organic, grass-fed meats and wild sockeye salmon we eat generic brand hot dogs and MacDonald's 2-can-dine meals.
His room is 500sqft ours is, oh, 200?
He has a deluxe combo of tent+tunnels+house and an outdoor (enclosed) vacation home which we're building under his supervision we have a 3 person tent.
He gets a follow up phone call from his doctor after every visit we get scolded by our doctor's receptionist for asking for an earlier appointment.
He has, oh, 1,500 photos taken in the past 2 1/2 years we have 1, for passport purpose.
We feel guilty when we don’t feed him on time but when we miss a meal or two we call it life.
We have read 20-30 books about his nutrition, behaviors, and emotions we think human self-help books is a scam.
He has a blog/website 100% dedicated to him and his life we have an e-mail address that is full of newsletters from Catster, Petsmo, and other cat blogs.
We watch videos about how to trim his nails properly we bite our nails instead of using a nail clipper.
Naah I wouldn’t say he is spoiled. We are honored to be of service to him.
