Arrival Story:
As we went to the breeder to look at kittens, I sternly told my husband that we were not coming home with the first kitten we saw. I wouldn't have picked her because she was sort of scrawny, had ears that looked dirty (the color on the back of them is very blotchy), and mostly because she seemed really wound-up, was a little desperate, was a little too old, and was clearly the last remaining cat of that litter, passed over by everyone else. However, we were not there to pick a cat for ME, but for my husband. Sifaka knew this, and promptly licked his nose, and there was no way I could talk him out of having her. She smirked at me the whole way home. My existing cat, Panther, was absolutely horrified by her. He was so angry, that he bit me. It took two years before they slept together.

Bio:
Sifaka is named for a sandy colored lemur that has a beautiful sideways leap. She did this as a kitten, and has sandy golden feet and underbelly. She has the habit of coming to a stop in front of where we are working and just standing still until she is hugged. When happy, she purrs loudly, and then reaches out her long face on her long neck and makes kisses with a very rough tongue. No food is safe from her. Loves riding on shoulders, and frequently jumps up without warning. With her cousin Panther is the water police. He and she constantly put their head into the shower and inspect our ablutions. They start yowling if we stay in too long. Also, ALL other activities in the bathroom are closely supervised.

Well, I was napping on the bed, when I heard fluttering. My human had been painting some windows in the room where I was sleeping and had left a window open with the screens off. Fortunately for me, the window was next to the birdfeeder, and a very young house finch flew into my parlor. Like a bullet from a gun, I snatched that little morsel out of the air and then took it into my human's bedroom and let it go, where it made the most delightful quivering and fluttering noises. I sang my joy, and my human came in, let out a shriek, and then TOOK my prize away from me! Whatever possesed her of the nerve to do that?
