Arrival Story:
My ex husband and I went to Florida in May of 2007 so that I could have a series of back surgeries to relieve my pain. After the procedures I was supposed to walk every day. My favorite spot was the HUGE indoor flea market close to where we were staying. I had seen him the weekend before and the price was WAY too high for me. SO...the next weekend, I could not help myself and I stopped by the breeder's booth. There he was...at 1/2 price...which was within my doable price. MINE. So back to Illinois with the cat and dog we came with and our newest housemate who we named Hudson for the name of the town where he came from.

Bio:
The breeder that Hudson came from had walls filled with awards and ribbons from his Manx cats. Hudson is so gorgeous that I can't imagine what his main tom looked like that he was willing to part with Hudson. But I am sure glad he did. Hudson was about 3 years old when one of the juvenile delinquents that hung out in the park across from our house found offense with him and kicked him from the back. Bless his heart, he managed to get home and I knew immediately that he was in an emergency situation. Your could see where the intestinal lining had been torn and his intestines were falling down to the inside of his rear legs. The bruising was horrible to look at. The surgery was delicate and long but he made it through with flying colors. I have never seen him in the park again, he is a lot more careful with strangers and the delinquents were gone from the park also. We did without for a couple of months after paying the vet's bill but we still had Hudson.
