   Leave a treat for Gwinny

Gwinch, Gwinchy (Her name is actually Guinevere, but we've never called her that.)

Kitty Complexion:
sleepyvery active
not curiousvery curious
not vocalvery vocal

Quick Bio:
-pound cat

August 20th 2004

She LOVES those little real-fur mice. She carries one around in her mouth, chases it, bats it around, and will retrieve it repeatedly when it is thrown. She likes to hide it under the sofa; the other day when I put a stick in there, I found six mousies.

She doesn’t seem to have any peeves. I’ve never once seen her hiss or otherwise act peeved.

Favorite Toy:
Furry mousies. Also her sisters

Favorite Nap Spot:
We have a number of office chairs in our house, and Gwinny loves to sleep on them. She also likes to doze on the sofa in the sun.

Favorite Food:
Anything Sammy is eating.

Gwinny can levitate when chasing her mousies. She is VERY fast, and when a mouse is thrown, she arrives at the place it will land before it does.

Arrival Story:
When our beloved 14 ½ year old cat Hatshe died, she left a big hole in my heart that Tasha and Sammy couldn’t quite fill by themselves. About two weeks after we said goodbye to Hatshe we were in PetSmart for cat food when we happened to walk by the cages of Humane Society animals up for adoption. They were still putting the animals in the cages when I glanced over and felt my heart stop. In the top-most cage sat a little kitten who looked at me with Hatshe’s face. I could not stop staring at her, and when the adoption center opened I had to hold her. We signed the papers and took her home two days later after her spay surgery.

Well, Gwinny is not Hatshe—she is her own very special purrson, and she has filled the hole in my heart that Hatshe left. It is hard to take photos that do her justice, because of her dark tortoiseshell coloring. She has lovely golden eyes and a swirled black and red pattern on her sides. Her paws on the left side are apricot, and on the right they are black. She is a very sweet and loving cat with a quirky and winning personality. She and the other two kittens get along so beautifully you would think they had always been together. There doesn’t seem to be an “alpha cat” among them. They are just good, loving friends.
