Gotcha Date: February 16th 2011
Birthday: April 12th 2010

Likes: Playing. Playing. And PLAYING. She also likes creating distractions so she can curl up in my roommate's computer desk chair (or sneak behind me into mine).
Pet-Peeves: being told no... this makes us very annoyed and we squeak, growl and chitter about it.
Favorite Toy: laser pointer, dream curl scratcher, wand with long strip of fur tipped with feathers, kong moppy
Favorite Nap Spot: the veeeeeeeery top of the cat tower, Kevin's computer desk chair, the Cozy Claws mat, on the couch in the spot next to my chair
Favorite Food: Blue Buffalo Indoor
Skills: climbing on top of things, being a ninja, jumping straight over Gus
Arrival Story: I was out with my mom on her birthday, and we decided to stop in at a nearby PetSmart. It so happened that this particular PetSmart does adoptions through a local no-kill shelter, the wonderful Open Door Animal Sanctuary. I had been thinking about getting another cat (I have a 15-yr-old also) and can never resist a chance to play with kitties anyhow... Long story short, El was a bundle of manic energy and quite willing to meet'n'greet. She came home with me a few days later. :)
Bio: Electra is now a big sister since we adopted Gus in May, and after some initial annoyance (he reeeeeeallly wanted her attention and she wasn't too sure about another cat in her territory) she's learned to treat him like a little brother. Meaning that she likes him but also sometimes poffs him in the face with a paw. Luckily he is incapable of taking offense.
They love to "kitty pro wrestle", which alarmed me greatly until the umpteenth time I checked them both over afterwards only to find not a hair out of place -- now they sometimes stop "fighting" just to lick each others' ears for a few seconds, then resume battle. :D
Electra is not much of a talker, though she will squeak at me when she is really excited (usually about food) and she does this much more often than she used to.
She's also the cat who wants to be near you but not on you. Her newest favorite thing (in the last couple months) has been to either sit on the back of my computer chair behind my head, or she waits until I scoot/lean forward for some reason, then jumps into the chair behind me and curls up. On occasion she will come sit in my lap and demand to be allowed to chew on my fingers for several minutes, then she jumps down and wanders off again.
She has a fey, sort of wild quality to her so sometimes I call her my changeling or my goblin child (her eyes being so enormous and golden adds to this impression *g*).
