Arrival Story:
When I was 10 we adopted a kitten named Holly after losing one of our other cats. When my mom took her to the vet to get fixed, we found out she was going to have kittens, and that week, she did. However, Smokey was not among them. At some point after they were born, she slipped out again without our knowing, and once more when we took her to fixed, she was again pregnant. So we waited, and 5 months after the first litter, we had 6 more! Sadly, only 4 weeks later Holly vanished and we never saw her again. Leaving myself (with the help of my mom) to take care of these kittens. Smokey was the only male of the six. He was a big baby and would only eat when i got home from school. So when it came to finding homes for the other kittens, I couldn't let him go. Although everyone who came by just fell in love with him.

Smokey and I are still together. He's gone from living with 3 other cats and being strictly outdoors, to being a single cat and living both indoors and out. He's adjusted to our new house with the large ducks in the back yard (that once use to terrify him). As a single cat he has really come into his own, although has grown much lazier, I suppose his age will do that. But he still enjoys being out at night, doing who knows what. Unfortunately he does now have diabetes(in remission) and congestive heart disease (which nearly killed him in 2011). Despite all that, he is still happy and loving. And I'm just glad to see him every day :)
