Well, we thought in honor of the people in Egypt risking their lives for democracy and a better life for their people, we would put up a song by Tracy Chapman on our mixpod. Go to our profile page and scroll down. She says it best.
We have it good here in the US, no matter what obstacles we face and how much that yes, things could be a lot better, we have it good. $2.00 a day! Can you imagine trying to live your whole life on $2.00 a day while your president is living in luxury and smirking down at you for 30 years? Nope, not us!
People are rising up and taking control of their lives. We purr for their safety and victory and wish them nothing but the best. Everyone is entitled to be free.
Purring for peace and freedom!
Mommy says here here to you Lacey! Mommy studies historical revolutions, that's her special field, her thesis involves revolutions, and politics, and histories. Great post Lacey!!!
You know what River? The more we talk to you guys the more we love you. My momma is not so much political as she is for human rights and she loves history! Big time. She loves to look at the history channel, discovery, biography, all that stuff. Our new favorite show is Brad Meltzer's Decoded. We love that one! Thanks River! This is fun!
We're with ya on ALL dat! 235 years ago, our country did pretty much the same thing, and we agree, people should have a say in their own futures. We just watched the wave of responsible-protest that is overtaking Cairo now. We pray that this will work out for the people with the least violence. We suspect Egyptian Mau's started it with food-based grumblings, like "You expect me to eat THAT?", "You're feeding me that AGAIN?"!! We'll check out Decoded! prrrrp, Tink
Lacey, my fellow news head, I agree a 100%. We also need to cross our paws that the right people go into office after this is all over. If they aren't careful they can wind up with the same situation all over again or worse.
I hope they find Peace and Prosperity.
That's true Zachy! I think the younger generation who started this whole protest there won't stand for anything else than the real thing. I hope anyways! We've seen it happen in too many other countries so you're right, let's cross our paws that they have a fair election and a terrific new leader. We'd love to see them have a much more prosperous life.
We do have it good here. I hope everything works out there for the best there.
I'm so disappointed to see that the country is in complete chaos today and people are killing each other. Sigh. Sometimes I think these hoomans are never gonna listen to us cats! Peace man! PEACE!
That's so true Lacey. Why would they kill each other? Haven't they ever heard of a good paw smakey? That usually does the trick. Just paw smakey the other guy instead of killing them. I never have to kill brother, just paw smakey him every once and a while. Take a lesson from the kitties of the world humans. We hope everything works out for the best over there. Mommy is also very concerned about the artifacts in the museums (she's a nerd) every day she googles the museums to try to find out what happened to them. A really beautiful ancient statue of king Tut and a panther was smashed when looters broken into the Cairo museum. Such a loss.
Oh Simone, we're with you on da paw smakies and oh boy my momma too is worried about all the artifacts. She is a big believer in history and was mortified that they would do that to King Tut. We hope King Tutankhamen rises up and spits mummy spit on them! MOL http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/content/view/50354 /
I checked out your hyper link on the King Tut statue. So sad, that's their history, that's the world's history. Why? Why destroy it? This whole thing is getting out of hand fast.
Before Discovery sold their Disney Kids station to the Hub we used to like to watch Tutenstein! It was the cutest cartoon. I know, it's silly. Mom is no kid either. But she likes to escape all the war and junk on tv and it was actually a good way to learn history believe it or not. They called him Tutankhensetamoon. We love that name and still call him that! And it makes mommy mad that people do this. Do you know how many tombs and sarcophagi have been destroyed everywhere over time by looters? So gross and disrespectful.
