Arrival Story:
My sister was at an AIDS benefit. Someone had put the baby kitten in a dumpster there. She couldn't have been more than 2 weeks old. Apparently she lost her mommy. My sister took the cat home and we brought her right to the vet. He didn't expect her to live because she was so tiny and malnourished. But we nursed her back to health. She's a survivor. I love her more than anything else in the world.

Bio:
Today, March 1, 2008, after a major illness, Alex had to be put to sleep. She was my world and I loved her as if she were my child. My heart is truly broken and I will never be able to experience the love I felt from her. I am empty and so very sad. I pray she is at peace and in no pain. I pray that she will be my angel and that her spirit will always be around me. I don't know if this gnawing ache will ever leave me. A good friend sent this poem to me today after finding out about Alex's death... Remember Me: "Remember me always, but do not grieve for too long. I have tried always to comfort you in times of sorrow, and have made every effort to add joy to your life. I never wanted to cause you pain. Peace for me is certain now, and I suspect I will have eternal sleep in the earth I have loved so well. Please, after your period of grieving for me, make room in your heart for me to love. You are the kind of human being that should always have a friend like me to love. Your kind and gentle heart should not be wasted on my memory for too long. Give your love to another. I know your new friends will never take my place, because we had something very special. It may not be quite the same, but a new devoted and loving companion will in time, become special in their own way. You loved me very much and I loved you. My spirit will always be with you, and no matter how deep my sleep, my grateful heart will always remember you."
