Arrival Story: My neighbor's cat had kittens and they were born very premature, they didn't even know she was pregnant and then one day she had kittens. They were so tiny, all 4 together were not even the size of 1 normal sized newborn. No one thought they would live, but somehow they all managed to survive.
Once they were big enough my neighbor would bring them over to my house so we could play with them, and she eventually talked me into wanting to keep one.
But my dad was very against cats and said no, so I tried all sorts of tactics to talk him into letting me have one.
And finally he said as long as it was outdoor only I could have one, so I said ok.
However by the time he said yes, my neighbor decided that she wanted to keep the kitten I was originally promised, because she liked that ones looks the best, and because she didn't want one with runny eyes. So she said the only one I could have was the one with the runny eyes. I really didn't want that one though, not so much because of the eyes but because she threw up on my bed before!
So we got into a fight about which cat I could have, and then I told her I just didn't want one anymore, but she said I had to take one because I already said I would and that her mom would just drop the unwanted ones off on the side of the road somewhere so that made me decide to take her.
We got rid of her worms which were making her throw up, and somehow just being at our house and wiping her eyes everyday with a moist cloth made her eyes get completely better, and she ended up being the sweetest most nice cat I have ever met.
I am really happy that I ended up with her, even though she was an unwanted by anyone kitty because of her runny eyes and throwing up, she ended up being the only even tempered cat of the litter.
The one I was supposed to get seemed to have some serious mental problems so I'm really happy it ended up the way it did~

Bio: Cole was named after Nicole Bobeck, who was my favorite figure skater at the time, and because of her colouring looking ashy and cole like.
She had a problem that sometimes rumpy's have, where her bowels looked like they were starting to come out, and it was very aggravated by kitty litter which would cause her bowels to protrude even more, and even bleed.
So she had to only go outside for her toilet needs.
My dad said she wasn't allowed to come inside once she was used to being at our house so after a week she was no longer allowed in the house anyway.
I felt worried about her problem but I couldn't do anything about because I was so young and had no money.
She got used to being held with her bottom hanging loose because we didn't want her icky bottom to touch us, and even to this day she still doesn't need a lot of support when she is held because she was held that way since a kitten.
When she was nearly 2 she had her first and only litter of kittens.
My sibs and I naively thought that since she had health problems, and we had never seen her in heat that she was unable to have kittens, but then she kept getting fatter and fatter with moving around lumps and we realized she was indeed pregnant.
Since she was almost 2 when she first got pregnant, and she was solely an outdoor cat for her first year or so, I think probably she at least didn't get pregnant as easily as most cats.
She had 4 kittens that we think were born late because they were so big, and their eyes were open within only a few days.
We decided since she was born prematurely she decided to keep hers in as long as possible.
She was a dutiful mother, but never seemed to really love them or dote on them like her mother had done for her. After a few weeks she seemed to really hate them and avoid them as much as possible, and only went near them when it was time to nurse.
Out of the 4 cats, only one didn't have a tail, she was black and orange and so pretty and so quiet and sweet that I wanted to keep her but my dad said NO!
She also had one orange male cat with half a tail, one orange female cat with a full tale, and a black with tiny orange bits female with a full tale.
We eventually found homes for all of them, and I hope they were good homes.
Labor seemed to have aggravated her bottom problem more though, and by that time I had a baby sitting job and since we found out she was pregnant I was saving up to get her spayed, and the Vet said at the same time she was spayed he could fix her bottom problem too (and they told me then that it was a prolapsed rectum, which I had never heard of at the time)
Ever since then she has had no problems, but she still has a kitty litter allergy and can only go outside.
Gradually over the years my dad even got attached to her and now he loves her too and she goes in and out as she please which is just how she likes it~
At 11 years old she is healthy and active, but lately I notice that her spine is giving her some problems and she will sometimes seem to have some hip pain, but it doesn't slow her down at all.
I worry since she is such a rumpy the older she gets the more spine and hip problems she will have but thus far she seems ok.
Right now she weighs 7.5 pounds, which is a bit on the heavy side for her, she seems best at 7lbs, but at one point she was nearly 9lbs and very overweight and not active because of her big belly, so we put her on a more controlled diet and she has been able to maintain a good weight for her.
She is very small in stature, and so she can't weigh as much as some larger cats can weigh.
She loves to sit on the laps of people she is comfortable with, but is very skittish of people she doesn't know well. She is very warm and cuddly and basically never scratches (only when extremely scared or startled)
She doesn't like small children at all and always runs and hides when my niece or any other small child is around but she has never lashed out at any child or scratched or hissed at all which makes me proud of her.
I always say she is the only kitty for me. I don't think I could ever find another like her or love another kitty so much!

When I was making this page for Cole I started looking up things about Manx cats again because I always find it fun to see all how most of the traits really do fit Cole!
When I read about how they make a low growl sound when they feel threathened, and sometimes even chased off dogs, it made me laugh because that is exactly what Cole does!
Before I got Cole, we used to have a real problem with neighbor dogs "adopting' us, they would come to our house and never want to leave, and would only sometimes leave, probably when they got hungry because we never fed them, they just liked our house so much that every dog around wanted to stay here.
After having Cole for a few years, that problem ended and now almost no dog dares to come around, and if they do it's never more than once or twice. Cole and my sisters cat have a method of chasing them away.
My sister's cat Kita plays "bait" and when a dog comes up to him, suddenly Cole will pop out of nowhere and attack, and then Kita will suddenly stop acting the part of a cowering cat and attack too!
Even before Kita (he is only about 4 years old) she had our yard free of dogs, but now that he is here, and even though they don't get along, chasing out dogs and other cats is the one thing they like to do together.
Once when she was a tiny kitten she was kidnapped by a 2 dogs!
They put her down in the woods near our house and blocked her in, and they wouldn't let anyone come near her. She was mewing and mewing such a sad little mew, but we couldn't get to her at first!
We were scared she was hurt!
My sibs and I tried to lure the dogs away, and we eventually got one of them to move away, but the smaller female dog wouldn't leave her and barked viciously every time we would get near!
Finally we got her and she was completely unharmed, she was only full of slobber. For some reason that dog decided to make Cole her own baby, even though she had never had any babies of her own and was spayed. She didn't want to hurt her, she wanted to have her for her baby. She tried a few times after that to get her too!
Ever since then, Cole really hated dogs.
