Mom decided it was time for her and me to write a diary entry to express my sincere thanks for my lovely birthday wishes *purrs* and to explain my final days with her. (still not easy for her to do)
It had become impossible for me to eat or drink much because of the extreme pain issues that my mouth had been causing me. I lost so much weight that I had returned to bones, the condition Mom first had found me in over two years prior. No humane cat trap or what Mom thought were clever attempts to capture me worked and I remained suffering in her yard out in the extreme heat.
Then suddenly a new kitty showed up at our back door. Mom thought that she had seen it all while out at Flock trying to help hundreds of super sick, emaciated and dehydrated kitties, but this new Maine Coon kitty she stated “took the cake!” He was horribly ill, on death’s door and although super nice to me, wanted nothing to do with her. He disappeared three nights later, Mom presumed and prayed that he had peacefully passed on.
Next thing Mom knew, I not only was unable to eat but I too now had caught whatever illness that the Maine Coon kitty had. The odds were now completely stacked against me. I finally became so weak that Mom snuck up on me in the middle of the night and scooped me up. She rushed me to Doc Holly’s office the next morning, but it was too late for me and I received the gift of being set free of my painful Earthly body.
To Mom’s surprise I was not a young cat! I was an elderly gal who had been previously spayed and probably got lost or tossed out to fend for myself. Whatever had happened, it was obvious that I did not trust humans any longer. It was discovered that I had horrible teeth issues and I needed a lot of abscessed teeth extracted, however going under anesthesia was not an option for me because of my weakened condition and the illness that I had contracted from the sick Maine Coon kitty. I was so emaciated, sick, and suffering that the kindest thing was to set me free.
Although a loner on Earth, I am quite the social kitty at the Bridge. (grateful winks) Thanks to all who helped to make my Birthday a special one! I’m sporting a special diamond from Sweet Greystone & Family, had a most fantastic time bowling thanks to Sweet Calvin, and the food…. let me tell you those tuna-melt sandwiches, prepared by the Da Tabbies O Trout clan, and the awesome catnip Birthday cake whipped up by Felix (Honey Angel) were the best ever!! *purrs* And who knew that Oreo, Thomas, Brantley, Callie … Fluffy, Alex & Family… Adam, Eve and Family could sing Happy Birthday so beautifully! *many more grateful purrs*
Hugs and Love,
*running pain free & in peace at the Bridge*
