Being rescued from an empty apartment.
Her new sibs hissing at her (and growling at her)
The catnip toys
Favorite Nap Spot:
So far, her safe place is under the couch
Very pleasant and adaptive
Yesterday I received a call from a friend, and among other things, she told me about a woman who was trying to find homes for 2 cats. Something about they were left behind when someone moved out of an apartment. She said one was supposed to be Siamese, the other was black & white. She gave me the number and name of the woman and I called immediately. I knew that I had to take them all and find homes, but I also knew I would probably HAVE to keep the Siamese, who the woman said was about 8 weeks old. So today, late this morning I called my friend... the one with the vehicle, and we drove over to the apartment building. The woman greeted us at the front door and promptly took me upstairs to an abandoned apartment that smelled like litter box. The first cat we saw was pure black with big yellow eyes and long hair. We had him and then we didn't. And then we had him again and quickly crammed him in this tiny cat carrier that was there. He was quite loud so we took him down to the van, tranfered him to a larger crate and brought the small one back upstairs. This little Siamese got away from the woman and found a hole under the kitchen sink cabinet. Every time I put my hand down in the hole I heard a yeowl that is very typical for a Siamese that is not very happy. We found the black and white cat and put her in the van. Eventually the Siamese came out of the hole after I was pounding on the floor she was under. She went into the other crate and off we went with one extra cat (the black one). She will stay, regardless of how bent out of shape Solace's nose is right now. After I let the cats out at my apartment, I followed poor Solace into the living room, sweet talking him. He looked right at my face and gave me a slow, venomous hiss. He'll get over it and so will my old lady, Bethany.
Out of the 3 cats rescued today, Banchee is the free spirit. When I came back from shopping tonight, I walked into the door to see the black and white cat crouched on the floor only a few feet from where I last saw her, and she was meowing up a storm. She was so scared she was shaking all over. She let me pick her up and I soft talked her and placed her in a cat bed by the window on my spare desk. She has been there since and now seems content. Banchee came out from under the couch, then would run back in, come out again until she worked up the courage to stay out a little longer and explore a little further in the apartment. Then she was checking out everything. She walked around, climbed up and just checked everything else, and did not seem phased too much at all by the presence of a dog. I took out the basket of cat toys that my 2 adult cats seem to pretty much ignore and showed Banchee a few of them. She had fun checking them out. She found a cat nip toy on the floor and began to beat it up along with my couch near by. Though the other 2 cats don't seem to like her much yet, she seems surprisingly confident with her new surroundings. She now dawns her new cat collar and tag with bell. Pink suits her.

Is it edible?
Well this little kitten is a velcro cat. She likes to follow me around. When my cat Solace is being a bully, I pick her up and carry her by him. Today everyone (all the rescued kitties) got shots etc. Banchee is a bit tired from that. I know Solace reacts poorly to being vaccinated. Banchee has been slowed down a lot by the shots. Usually she is all over the place checking everything out! Right now she is in her favorite nap spot, the dog bed. Rosie the dog still won't look any of the rescue cats in the eye yet... funny! Banchee has already attacked her in fun and Rosie isn't quite sure how to respond to that because I told her she can't pounce on her as she is uneasy around dogs still. She attacked because Rosie was moving near or over her.

Diva Darkface, Banchee needs me to update her page! Looking at her gift tonight, I noticed her photos show a cat that doesn't look familiar to me! Banchee has gotten SO much darker in the 2 years she's been with us... and so much fatter too! Seems to be an eating competition between her and my half-siamese, Solace (the anti-solace). She's still a short little kitty with a funny "Macy Gray" type meow, but could use a weightloss program. I will have to update her page. Lost some photos when one of my computers died, but will take more and look-up others. Banchee has become a vital member of this family since her rescue and keeps Solace somewhat under control.

I have been tagged by Riley. I list five things I'm thankful for and list five furriends that I pawmail to do the same.
Thank you Riley, my northern neighbor, for tagging me.
1. I am thankful to my human for rescuing me and my kitty mates from the empty apartment.
2. I am thankful that I have a fun playmate named Solace available to me 24 hours a day!!!
3. I am happy to have a full bowl of food and water everyday to keep my not so skinny tummy from getting too skinny!
4. I am happy that I have a couch to hide under when strange people come over to visit! One day I'll be ready to meet everyone, but for now I am still adjusting to my new home.
5. I am thankful to have a human with legs to rub against over and over again... until she trips over me!
