Mom Called me a Brat!January 29th 2012 9:26 am[ View A Comments (14) ] I just got this great idea and thought I would try it out. I started climbing all over Mom's clothes. The ones hanging in her closet. I made holes in some and pulled down many other. I made a pretty big mess and lots of noise. And, oh yeah, did I mention that this was at 1:30 am? So Mom got up and tried to find me. I was hiding inside one of her shirts which was still hanging on a hanger. But, just when I thought I was safe, the shirt slipped off the hanger and my hiding place was revealed. Mom picked up most of the clothes and hangers and then picked me up and brought me back to bed. She said I was a little brat.

Strange ... but I'll take it!January 19th 2012 11:00 am[ View A Comments (10) ]
I was diary pick two days ago, and I am again today! Yet I did write anything new since the first one. Oh well, thank you everyone for the concats and messages and presents.
Not True!January 16th 2012 7:57 am[ View A Comments (20) ]
The rumours that Squirrel is spreading about me being a dirty piggy are not true. The only thing I won't do, that most cats do, is clean my bum. Like who would want to do that? So, once in a while, Mom catches me and pulls off the crusties for me. I have fur of a different texture than Squirrel's. But it is clean! My fur would make me better suited for cold weather that hers. I keep my paws especially clean by carefully licking between my toes and scraping my claws clean with my teeth.
Cheez Whiz IncidentJanuary 15th 2012 9:31 pm[ View A Comments (5) ]
I just woke up from a nap. Squirrel was chowing down on some Fancy Feast and Mom was eating crackers and Cheez Whiz and watching TV. I showed up and she thought I would like to have some Cheez Whiz. Like I said, I just woke up and didn't know she had the cheese on the table and I just wanted to say hello and get petted. Mom, put a big gob of Cheez Whiz on her finger, and put out her hand without even looking! She was watching hockey. She thought I was going to lick her finger and I thought she was going to pet me, so I reared up to meet her hand. I ended up getting a bunch of Cheez Whiz smeared onto the fur of my chest! Just under my chin where I can't reach! I was not impressed and Mom busted out laughing and couldn't stop. She went for paper towels to try and help me get it off but I kept turning away because I was insulted. She got some of it off and I used yoga poses and my paws to get the rest of it off. She is still laughing. She said we had to get it off or Lobo would try and eat me!
Fur Flyin'January 10th 2012 11:50 am[ View A Comments (6) ] Lobo has been shedding like crazy. Big chunks of fur everywhere. But, he is pretty well done. The best guess is a false shedding due to our unusually warm winter. Or, it could be a health thing. We aren't sure, but he is looking pretty good now. Anyhow, Mom was surprised to see new tufts of fur on the floor. She looked closer and realized it was mine!!! Squirrel took a round out of me. Mom checked to see that we both still had our eyes (she always worries about that) and noticed ruffled fur on my back. I have very thick fur so Mom relaxed when she saw there was no blood. This was a result of catnip. We still love each other but we had a bit of a scrap today. I guess Squirrel won. She is meaner. Now we are both busy grooming and putting our fur back in place.
Our Christmas PresentDecember 31st 2011 10:30 am[ View A Comments (5) ]
Well, as some of you know, Mom didn't buy us any new toys. Instead, she promised to play with us more and dig out some of our old toys. That worked pretty good. But, the best thing she did was to take our tunnel, attach one end of it to the first level of our cat tree, and drape some old towels over it. So, we ended up with kind of a tent. One of us hides in the tent and attacks the other kitty as she walks by. Or, one of us sits on the first level of the cat tree, and the other hides in the tent. Then we bat at each other with only the paws of the kitty in the tent showing from below. It has been great fun and we have played with it all week! We have even surprised Lobo from our tent as he walks by. Here is a picture of the arrangement:
Mom made us the bestest toy!December 1st 2011 10:54 am[ View A Comments (6) ] We were looking a bit bored the other day so Mom got creative. She dug out a pair of her old undies, one of the ones she keeps for rags. She cut them up into a square. She rolled up some catnip in them and then tied it all into a knot. Then she sprayed it with water and gave it to us. Squirrel & I played and played with it all day long! In between, we were so wired with catnip that we had little scraps. The next day, we were still playing with it and play fighting with each other. Eventually, I untied the knot, licked up the catnip and rubbed the undies all over my face. They had been washed but I could still smell some of Mom's stink on them. I'm one of those kitties that likes the smell of dirty laundry. Mom promises to make us another toy like that soon. But our catnip tub is empty. Time for another trip to the pet store!
My Bad ...November 21st 2011 5:33 pm[ View A Comments (14) ] Some of you know I am a bathroom cat. I always follow Mom in there to help her with her toilet habits, etc. Today, she felt chilled and went for a hot bath. Sometimes she reads in there and takes too long, so I jump up on the edge and encourage to get out. Lately, she has been ignoring me, so I have started to take very careful steps right on to her big belly! That makes her a bit nervous, and me too because if she has soaped up, it is slippery. Today, I added a new twist. I started kneading on her bare skin. She found that too much to take as my claws are very sharp. So she lifted me off and put me back on the edge of the tub. I then went to rub up against a bottle of shampoo and it fell in. This threw me off balance and I started to fall in too. I was only saved from getting wet by putting out my left front paw and pushing off on Mom's face. I accidentally scratched her. Mom said, "How am I going to explain this one at work?" She has a scratch on her cheek. She has been looking at me funny since then. I think she is waiting for an opportunity to catch me off guard and trim my precious claws!
BoringNovember 5th 2011 10:18 am[ View A Comments (12) ] I was looking bored today so Mom brought out a toy I had not seen in months. My bungee birdie! So, I am having fun with that right now. Mom is watching to make sure I don't get tangled up in it. And she put a carpet underneath so I can have a softer landing for my airborne tricks. She is noticing that I don't jump as high as when I was younger. She says it is because I am a bit too chubby. Well she isn't as fleet of foot as she used to be and for the same reason, plus she is getting old. But anyhow, this toy was exactly what I needed to relieve my boredom. Squirrel naps all morning while I want attention. Then, I nap in the afternoon and Squirrel wants attention. Mom wishes we would play at the same time. Squirrel & I do play together in the evening.
