About

Emily grew up near Lake Tahoe and currently lives in northern Nevada with her goldendoodle, Micah.  Emily spent the past several years writing research papers as a biology student and recently developed a newfound love of freelance writing. Having grown up bottle-feeding cows and riding horses, it was only natural for her to foster a passion for not only working with animals but writing about them.  Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a minor in Anthropology from Arizona State University.  When she’s not writing, you can find Emily hanging out with trees, rock climbing, playing the ukulele, and researching bioluminescent organisms. A fun fact about Emily is that she raised a guide dog puppy for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
