Arrival Story:
After my kitten Simon died, I was miserable. I hated not having a cat to love and call my own. (I do fostercare for the humane society, but they're not MY cats...its just different.) One day we were driving, and my mom said "hey, there's a three legged Siamese at the pound. Wanna go see her?" So I of course was like "YES!" So we went to see her. She wasn't hard to spot...there were only 3 Siamese there. And she was the smallest, and was missing a leg. She was cowering in the back of her cage, and looked at me with absolute terror in her eyes. My heart broke for this poor kitty who, as I read on her medical records, had had her leg and the tip of her tail amputated because they were mutilated and had bone sticking out and maggots in the wounds. No wonder she was so frightened. Well, we had to leave her there that night, but first thing the next day we showed up to take her home. Once she got home, she crawled under my bed...and stayed there for the next 6 months. She's taken years to be comfortable just in our home...
