Arrival Story:
At the end of my senior year of college, my best friend and I were moving into an apartment and had a friend who was trying to find a home for one of his friends' cats (she was about a year and a half old at the time). We decided to take her, sight unseen, and picked her up a few nights later from our local Shari's (!). I remember that we didn't have a carrier, so she ran all over my car during the drive home.

Brindel started out as a scrawny little cat, but you can see how that quickly changed!

I just found out about this new thing called "Twitter". My cousin Willow writes things there. I suspect mommy is secretly keeping it from me because it's probably really, really cool. Should I get one? I know how to sneak on the computer when she is at work. She always wonders why the computer turns itself off, and I just laugh my little kitty laugh and she has no idea.

Maybe I'll try this twitter thing when she goes to bed tonight.

Life and Times

I can't remember how long it's been since I last posted, but life has been crazy! I started randomly doing my business outside of the litter box on the carpet and mommy got really scared so she took me to the vet. After that I got lots of yummy treats every night for a long time, but then they stopped, so I decided to try it again... and again. Apparently each time I do this I get shoved back into that stupid crate thing with my toy mommy thinks makes it all better. It doesn't! I don't wanna be in that crate, even with my toy!! I met a new lady who stared at me and talked to mommy forever and used a bunch of cold equipment and pumped some weird stuff into me that made me smell weird (my brother did NOT like that when I got home - that was one upside). Later I had to go back there and mommy even left me alone! But it was only for a little bit. I think everybody thought I would be really difficult (can't imagine where they would get that idea), but I was actually my very cooperative, sweet self so I got to go home super fast. I think I heard my mom on the phone earlier saying that I wasn't going to get anymore treats, so maybe the jig is up. I'll have to think on whether there is another benefit to trying this again.

The other exciting thing that's been happening is there is this weird white stuff everywhere outside. Yesterday it was falling from the sky and today it's just all white where usually there are birds. Mommy went out today and tracked some of the white stuff back in. I sniffed it for a minute but it turns out it was really cold and pretty boring. We've had the fireplace on a lot lately too! I love sprawling out in front of it. Mommy turned it off a little bit ago though, but I hope she turns it on again. Until then, I'm going to curl up on the couch and look cute.

I think my mom might be going away again. I see that bag sitting out in the bedroom. I don't have a problem with it, I'm an independent cat. But, who will I sleep next to? Who will think everything I do is so adorable? Tonight I'm trying to look extra-pathetic on the couch. Maybe that will get me some more attention, at least for tonight. I don't know when she's leaving or how long she'll be gone. I just know that if she doesn't put those stupid sheets on the couches I'm going to scratch them up before she gets back, to express my disapproval of this process. But like I said, I'm totally independent, I don't need anybody.

Maybe my grandma will come by! She always does something fun like tying a bunch of stuff together and trying to get me to run around. Usually my brother gets into it and then I can just lie down and live vicariously through him. That's the best part.
