diary pick of the day

wow i am so honored that I have been chosen as a diary o the day! I'm just an old cat trying to make the best o my retirement years. Mom had a really rotten night; a neighbor tried to start a fight with her over something mom didn't even do. my mom is very quiet and stays to herself around here. it is so stupid that humans and animals have to start fights with each other. the lady told my mom she was fat, nasty and because she has five o us in the house she was not clean. That is such rubbish! My mom takes us all to the vet. She gives us baths once a month, clips our nails every six weeks and combs us three times a week. She and dad feed us very well. We get lots of love. Now it is true sometimes the house gets littered with papers and so forth that Angel of Peace knocks over and my parents are so tired they wait to pick them up. But mom got so upset by what the mean lady said tonight she called out of work and has been up all nightcleaning everything in a frenzy. Dad has been worried sick about her, but mom is the type of human once someone accuses her of something (like not being clean) she will go and work in a frenzy to make sure it's not true. But then if mom doesn't slow down she'll get sick. Then to top it all off Angel of Peace went into the kitchen and knocked over an entire pitcher of fruit punch on the counter. That is actually what set mom off after the fight with the mean lady. I will just be my normal self and let mom know we all love her and know what the lady said is not true.

retirement

Today is the first day of my official retirement from the Furry Federation. Of course I'll be available for consulting work, but I have a feeling they will not need my advice. I do feel a bit out o sorts, but mommy says I'll be fine. This month she is also decreasing her hours at work from 40 to 32. She says it will be a gradual process, but she is also easing herself into a sort of early retirement. She says we'll learn how to deal with it together.

Happy Easter

I want to wish everyone a happy easter. I am very fortunate to have a warm home. Everything is good, and I have a handsome husband.

retirement

I am going into retirement from the furry federation. I am almost 16 years old and I want to take it easy in my older years. many cats live into their 20's and i want to be one of them. it is a little sad to think of retirement but mommy says i will have plenty to keep me busy with Angel of Peace, teachingher how to be a proper kitty.

Recluse

Mom says I'm becoming more like Greta Grbo every day. I just want to be alone.

I spend all my time hiding under the bed and will not come out excpet for meals and potty time. I might come out at night if the bedroom door is shut and no one else is around and sleep on top of the bed. Otherwise, I want my solitude.

I wonder if this is how older cats are supposed to behave?

getting older

Getting older sometimes takes a toll on me. I'm getting slower and am hiding more often. I don't eat or drink as much. I like my solitude.

Mom worries about me, but she knows that with age comes certain issues. I went to the vet during the fire fiasco and he said I am in great shape for my age. Stll, I have been with mom for so many years. We've had a lot of great battles and a lot of great cuddle times.

I am thankful for every day I have with her.

Actually, I really could care less since I like the kitten but you know Stryper's oing to go wild. I really don't want to see it.

Hm, maybe this is a good time to get a plane ticket and go visit my in laws MOL

2008 resolutions

goodness mom ought to know by now that we never keep resolutions! but ok here we go...

1. to be nicer to Meatball
2. share space on the bed with Stryper
3. to spend lots of time with my husband
4. make black ops the best division in the federation
5. find Ryan a girlfriend

the first two are almost hopeless, but the other three are more feasable.

These are the Days of my Life

There isn't much that I do around the house any more. I can't go outside like I used to, and when mom takes me out on the leash I can tell we are high off the ground so I go back inside. I lay around in mom's bedroom, eat, sleep and sometimes play with mom or the toys Gavorche's mom sent.

Sometimes I holler at mom because I miss gouing in and out as I please, but I also know that I'm safe and warm inside. Well, and I admit I sleep with mom and dad.

I do have a good life...
