Hey There, Georgie Girl

Me? Tagged!

Me? I don't meow in my diary very often but I have been tagged by a new fur friend, Jacks.
So here's a little bit about me.

Five Things I Like About Spring:
1. I can be outside More. Daytime, nighttime, any time is fine for me.
2. The little mousies and gophers are easier to find. I love to hunt.
3. It is warm and sunny on our back steps. I like to hang out there when I'm not busy with something else.
4. I like to be alone. Outside it's easier to do that when it's warmer in the Spring.
5. The Momperson seems to pet me more. I like that.

Now, I am supposed to tag 5 other furs. But since I am pretty much a loner and an independent kind of girl, I don't think I am going to do that.

Night Hunting

This morning, I had a little birdie on the door mat at the back door. The mother told me I shouldn't catch birdies. She went to get something to move the birdie so the doggies wouldn't be able to take it from me.
I ate the birdie, just left a few feathers. Now the doggies can go out the door.

Now where did I leave that?

I am a little absent minded for some reason. I was out last night patrolling the yard. And doing some hunting. I caught a gopher but now I can't remember where I put it. Silly me.

Tux enters the room as Georgie is typing.
Uh, Georgie, I think I know where you left your gopher. I was hanging around near Mom a little while ago while she was scooping pup poop. Was your gopher nice and intact? No bite marks or blood? Mom found, scooped and pitched a gopher. She gave a little squeal when she saw it. It was just laying there nice and relaxed like. She pitched it over the fence. It might still be over there.

Georgie the Gopher Getter

We have gophers invading our area. They tunnel and make big piles of dirt. If a cat is patient, she can catch one of those gophers when they pop up above the ground.
That's what I have been doing. Yesterday Mom found a dead but not munched up gopher in the flower bed on the front side of the house. She got a shovel and pitched it somewhere else. She didn't know which cat had caught that gopher and none of us would admit it.
But I was the only cat out during the night. The 3 garage cats were in the garage. Ellie cat doesn't come outside.
There was a gopher on the door mat for Mom this morning. Not partly eaten, not even bloody. Not gross at all. Just dead.
Mom praised me for catching that gopher. They are pests and they do make a mess with those hills out in our pasture.
But she pitched my gopher over there. She just asked me not to put my gophers on the door mat anymore.
I have to let her see my gopher trophies!

A trip to the vet

A few days ago, I had to go to the vet. My family was saying something about how I hadn't been spayed, and it needed to be done. So, Mom made an appointment for Friday morning.

I wasn't able to eat anything on Thursday night- the food was picked up. On Friday, Mom put my in a crate, and we drove to the vet. I did good in the car- I wasn't too noisy or anything. When we got to the vet, I was a little nervous. I dug my claws into Mom's shoulder while she was carrying me, and did the same for the girl who took me from Mom.

She took me into a different room, and then I got real sleepy and decided to take a nap. When I woke up again, I was in a cage with a few other cats and dogs around. My stomach kinda hurt, and I was pretty groggy. After a little while, Mom came and picked me up, and we went back home.

I slept for almost all of that day and night. Sister offered me some food and water, but I didn't feel like having any. The next day I was feeling a little better. I had some food and water, but still spent most of the day sleeping. Two of those silly dogs, Cindy and Zoe, kept staring at me.

Today I'm feeling better, but still a little sore and sleepy. I just take it easy and sleep a lot. Cindy's still staring at me. I climbed behind some pillows on a bed to try to get away from her for awhile, but she jumped up on the bed so she could see me!

My claws aren't as sharp as they were. Maybe the vet gave me a pedicure. I'll be getting them sharpened back up soon!

Talk to you all later!

Last night, Toddy, my human Sister, and I were in Sister's room. She had the door closed, and Tod and I were playing. Pretty soon, we heard a buzzing noise moving all around the room. A fly!
Tod and I got right on it. Sister grabbed a shirt and started swinging it at the fly. That scared Toddy, so he went under the bed. I stayed there, though, watching that fly! I could see it buzzing around near the ceiling. When it landed, I tried to reach it, but usually it was too high for me. Sister kept swinging her shirt at the fly- she hit it a couple of times, but not hard enough to daze it. I don't know why she was using such a strange weapon for hunting. She should have used her claws (she calls them fingernails) and teeth like I do!
Well, eventually the fly got quiet and we couldn't find it anymore. Sister opened up her door and Tod came out from under the bed.
Talk to you all later!

My life as a Pampurred Cat

Life is wonderful. I am a Pampurred Housecat!
My day starts early by having a spot of canned cat food. We all gather in the tiny kitchen and have our own bowl of yummy food. My Mommy tells me that the habit started back when Rev needed to have daily medicine after he was shot. It was easier to give him his meds over food than to force it into him! Now, Rev isn't even here, but we all still get our yummy food.
Then my day continues with someone petting me. They have a glove that has little nubbie things. They wear the glove to pet me. It gets loose hairs off. Oh my, it makes me purr and knead! It feels simply wonderful.
I have a new cat window perch. I am going to put it to use today. I like to hang out in the sunny bedroom. Lovely.
The teenage girl has a wonderfully comfortable lap. I curl up with her while she uses her laptop or reads. I also like to sleep on her bed at night.
It is great being an "indoor" cat now. No worries, eat, sleep, play, get petted.
I think I'll take a catnap now.
Have a wonderful day, purr pals!

It's a Wonderful Life

I've been learning my way around the house, finding the comfy spots to sleep and sunbathe. My new mom even fixed up a wicker basket for us cats, right near a sunny window. There's a picture of me in it, it has a pink towel! Pretty!

My new mom was telling me how sweet I am. And that she is glad that I went to 4 adoption events and didn't get picked. I was waiting for my new family! She told me she can't believe anyone would turn me down, but she's glad they did. She says I belong here. It's wonderful to have a new home and I feel loved!

I'm learning that I'm not supposed to be on the kitchen counters or the kitchen table. And I am a great lap cat. I curl up just right with anybody who's sitting down. I have many talents, you see!
Purrs to you!

New cat in the house.

Yep, that would be me. Well, my new family took Ellie and me to be the new members of the family.
They found us listed on Petfinder.com. Two of the dogs have come from the very same rescue group as us two kitties. My new Mom has a real soft spot for rescue pets. I can tell the whole family loves me and that is great!

I had another family when I was a wee kitten but a few months ago they packed up and left. I guess they thought I'd be ok, because they left an open bag of cat food for me. Wow, it started to get cold outside. And the family never did come back for me. Some nice people took me to a place with about a million cats. It was so nice and warm there and plenty of food and litter boxes! I got along with everycat there. I even got to go to four adoption events. Lots of people would look at me and I am very friendly and cuddley. But people would look at my eyes and say things like "oh, she's cross-eyed" or "what's wrong with her eyes?' So back to the foster parents place I would go. Several months later I went with Ellie for a long car ride to meet a new family. This time, I got moved into another cat carrier and rode for awhile more and ta da! Here I am in my new home.
My new Mom even told me she picked me out just from seeing my picture, my little cross-eyed face picture. She knew I would be coming home to my new furever family. That makes me feel special. I mean, Ellie is beautiful. Who wouldn't want Ellie with her long gray hair and lovely green eyes that aren't crossed? I guess that's why they brought us both home. Mom just knew we were both coming home to be the new cats in the house!
Oh, I've purred on long enough. Maybe Ellie will want to say something now.
Purrs and kneads to you!
