UPDATE APRIL 2007 Wally has developed an aversion to seeing the bottom of his food dish. He just starts yelling at me! Hmm, I wonder if being COTW has gone to his lovely head. Favorite Toy: As long as there is a string attached, it is a toy (See above ) Favorite Nap Spot: Before Alpha Alfie came along it was the edge of mom's pillow.Found a spot on the back of the leather couch where there is now a permament indent to cradle his chubby body.UPDATE: The bros have learned to share mom's pillow Favorite Food: If it's food, it is his favorite :) Skills: Define skill please? Making food disappear a skill? He will come when called sounds like a herd of elephants but he can move fast Arrival Story: I love cats but it occurs to me that I am more vulnerable during the difficult times in my life. Once again I had no intention of getting a kitty. In fact I never had multiple cats before. I had a terrible day. Taking care of my mom was taking a huge emotional toll on me. I had just come out of a meeting where I was being pressured to place my mother in a home.
Across the street was a pet shop I thought I would buy Sydney a toy.I knew the store and right hand corner where the kittens were kept so I went in and headed straight for the toys making a point of not even looking at kittens. The sales person, a very young girl approached me, you know how you look but you don't really see sometimes? Well whoa! She was holding a little tiger in her arms.
My heart actually started to beat faster. He looked so much like my late Nikki.
Without a word I held out my hands and she placed him in my arms. He instantly turned on his very powerful motor.I held him to my face and he licked my nose. The girl tells me they don't have a cage for him. Somebody left him in a box outside the store before they had opened. I started walking toward the cash.I said I will take him (about 3 minutes had passed.) The sales girl looked a bit confused. I said, I will take him now. I think she was actually sorry to see him go. I had a 'toy' for Sydney. I just prayed she would like him. Bio: I named him Wallingford (Wally) after one of my favorite characters on the soap "Another World". He had been left in a box with a note stating he was born on April 1 2oo3 and that he had received his first shot and was tested for the major illnesses. He looked to be in good shape. We are assuming he had been born in the neighborhood. He was a lovely sweet natured kitten. I called him my zen baby.Never used his claws.Never destroyed anything. He purred for the vet the first time he was there.
Sydney played mommy rather happily, she groomed him~taught him the dos and don'ts. They were adorable together until one day I caught him trying to nurse from her. She looked at him like WTM? She smacked his head and their relationship as we knew it was over. At that point on she would merely tolerate him. He tried to snuggle with her but she would have none of it. So he started snuggling exclusively with me.
UPDATE: Shortly after his 3rd birthday he got sick. After every test and 2,ooo dollars later I had a diagnosis. IBD. He is on prednisone which makes me very unhappy. Also on a special diet from Hill (duck and pea) Between the pred which increases his appetite and his high calorie food he has gained a bit too much weight. Since diagnosis he has had 2 bad flare ups one of them requiring hospitalization. I worry about him.At times he moans and whimpers, he sounds so human and in pain! I think perhaps painful bloating? He sleeps more than a cat his age should. I will be seeing another vet soon. I want another opinion. Right now I don't feel we are doing the best for him.
I just want him to feel good and stay with us for years and years to come.
March 16th 2007 The new vet is wonderful. Finally somebody is taking my concerns seriously. We are trying to wean him off prednisone and control his condition with diet alone. Doing it very slowly. He has been taking half the dose for a month now and so far so good. Keep your paws crossed everyone :)

Wow! I have not had anything to say in this diary since Dec 2011?
Time goes by shocking fast!
My 10th life is very much like my brother, Alfie's. He is more than my brother he was and always will be my best friend.
We are always together..joyful in our 10th life; helping out with newcomers. My bro and I have a weakness for the little ones...We always make sure they get oriented here and are never alone..
Now something truly momentous happened that I want to record in my diary. Samoa
has chosen me to be Angel DREAMBOAT #20.We are now a family of DREAMBOATS!
How pawsome is that?
Samoa writes of the triple crown of Catster honors~Cat of the Day, CAT OF THE WEEK and DIARY OF THE DAY. You know what, Samoa?
I would say there is quadruple crown because being a DREAMBOAT is just as much of an honor.
Now Alfie and I are both quadruple winners!
Samoa, you have made us very happy angels. And you have made our Mom all misty. You are not only lovely, you have a very big heart.
Today is our friend's Misha Rainbow Bridge Day
This is for your mom:
“We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives even more temporary than our
own, live within a fragile circle;
Easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
We would still live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only
certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan.”
― Irving Townsend
love you dear friend!

Hi my friends,
So the other day I was a DDP and I totally missed it. I was glad cause I really love more visitors to my page and that's what happens when one is a DDP!
Then this morning mom received a notification. Wally♥Forever Loved is one of today's featured diaries..." She actually thought it was an error since I have written no diary entries since the first DDP!
But there is me on homepage. I don't know why, but I am purring that somehow out of this Wild Child will find a forever home by a catster family.
Some of you have written that her name is unfortunate. I so agree. Especially since Best Friends writes that she is a total lovebug! She is playful like a kitten. Did you know that she comes from the same horrific shelter as our friend, Muppet!
Yes, this little sweetie had a horrible start in life but she
is a happy girl
You know what my Christmas wish is?
I wish this sweet girl a family of her own!
Would you help me spread the word? Would you please do a diary entry about her? You can snag her picture from my diary.
Ask your friends to do the same?
I know when we put our hearts and minds into something we can make it happen.
Let's find Wild Child a loving forever home!
