I was cross with my mum yesterday so I gave her the full blown meow. She looked surprised and asked if that was really me. Yes it was. So far I have found what mum calls my baby bird squeak works best - full open mouth, tiny squeak. She usually says I am so cute and gives me whatever it is I am after. But yesterday she didn't so I had to unleash the meow. That will teach her to ignore me!

She says that today I will have a nice surprise. Josie said maybe it's my time to find my own home now. What? This is my home. Turns out that when poor Josie was my age she got thrown out of her home and had to fend for herself awhile and she thought that was what happens to all kittens.

And then Josie pointed out that the last surprise that she had was my arrival and she isn't sure that was a nice surprise so she hopes there won't be any more kittens.

Mum said that I am going nowhere and there are no more kittens and my surprise really is a nice one. Victoria from next door has been on holiday but she is home now and my mum saw her and she is going to visit me today and play with me while mum is at work. Now that is a nice surprise. I can't wait. Meantime, nothing wrong with a bit of Josie chasing.

Don't worry Toby. You won't have to go anywhere. You're way too cute and your Mum can't resist your bird-squeek. You will learn lots of other meows as you grow. It's fun to invent new meows and teach our humans what they mean. I have one for "I am so hungry, I could eat a horse". And: "that's not fair, Mom". And: "Mom, come play with me".

Oh, and you have to try meowing when you run. It's fun and sounds fun too.
