"spooning" under the covers, loves her belly and underarms rubbed, loves to be held and snuggled
she only likes "running water" to drink, and gets upset when I am gone for too long
she loves all of them, especially if they have catnip
Favorite Nap Spot:
on my chest, or anywhere under the covers. She also likes to be in the sun by the windows
I feed her science diet for mature cats but she loves fresh tunafish
she knows her name and comes when called, she "fetches" like a dog and is my little ragdoll....she loves to be stretched out by her arms, held upside down...she is not like a normal cat!
I got her in college from the humane society in May of 2000...she was just a baby! She had so much energy and would randomly jump up, run around, and act crazy so we sometimes called her "crack-head kitty" because she was so wild it was as if she was on drugs! She ran sideways (we called it the 'sideways shuffle'), jumping at nothing and doing flips! At the same time, she loved to be held and was the most affectionate cat I had ever known! She had constant attention from me and my 2 roommmates so I think she thought she was a person...seriously! She was not your average cat! For 2 years she was the only feline in the house and LOVED the constant attention she got from us 3 girls. She would fetch toys, come when you called her name, and when she heard me coming home from work or school, she would wait by the front door. She was our little gymnast, and just like a ragdoll she loved to be tossed around and held. She would let me hold her on her back with my one hand, practically upside down, and didnt mind...she did sit-ups, and flips! She also loved her belly scratched, especially under her arms, and was happiest when she was snuggling in my bed--UNDER the covers! She loved to spoon! She didnt talk much, but made weird noises and purred alot. She loved to sleep in the sink and would only drink running water out of the faucet! Eventually she got a baby brother Romeo and an adult sister Mischa. At first she didnt like Mischa but over the years grew to love her only sister! Right away she took to baby Romeo and acted like his mom. They shared a special bond, and even though he grew up to be more than twice her size, he would still snuggle up to her and she would groom him. She has lived in many places--Myrtle Beach,SC; Tampa,FL; and 5 different homes in around Cleveland,OH. She doesnt mind travelling and has lived with other cats and dogs...although she prefers just her sister and brother. She always followed me wherever I would go and is the most loyal pet I have ever known.
Although Misty was a healthy, indoors only cat, she died suddenly at the young age of 10. She got a bad cough and the vet gave her antibiotics thinking it was a respiratory infection. The very next night she started breathing heavy, but was still purring like she always did. I called the emergency vet and they said to bring her in if it got worse. Within 15minutes of me laying on the floor next to her, calming her down, it turned into panting and drooling, and I raced to the pet hospital. She died in my arms on the way there. The vet on duty said her lungs were filled with fluid and that her heart had stopped. I was hysterical. He believed that she had an unknown heart problem for a long time and that I did everything I could. He said the coughing is a symptom of this. Strangely enough, Misty was never sick. Her attitude and behaviors never changed, nor did her appetite. She weighed exactly the same 10.8lbs for over 3 years! If she was feeling sick then she never let me know. She passed on the evening of June 15, 2010. I still miss her so much.
I'll be forever loyal to my mama
