The easiest way to teach your cat her name is to repeat it often and when she comes to you, give her a treat or even an ear rub. They say names that end in the sound "ee" are easier for the cat to recognize. But Izzie answers to "Brat" as much as he does to "Izzie", "Iz", "Izadore!" (he never comes to that name b/c he knows he's in trouble.) "Lizard", "Izzie-boo", etc. He knows his name, but if he doesn't feel like answering, he won't. Unless, of course, I get the food bag down and he hears the food hitting the metal bowl, or the deli turkey bag being taken out of the refrigerator door. Keep your cat's "call name" simple, one or two syllables.
