What type of disease could a dog get by eatting "farel" cat feces? Our neighbor has many farel cats roaming & poop in my

my neighbor does not care for but feeds many cats that poop in my yard my 4 dogs fight to get it like it's doggy crack then seem to acquire runny diarreah and/or vomitting. What diseases are common that my dogs might get and how do I stop this madness? We've tried everything we pick up piles of cat poop everytime we take our dogs "by the hand" to do their business in their yard!

Most of the serious diseases feral cats get like FIV or feline leukemia won't affect dogs but parasites like tapeworm etc can so its definitely not good for your dogs to eat that stuff.

So I'd definitely get them wormed.

One thing you could do to try to stop the cats going in your back yard is to put in motion detector water sprayers. It's like a sprinkler system and won't hurt the cats but they hate getting wet and it will zap them with a squirt of water every time they walk in front of the motion detector. You can put it at strategic spots in front of flower beds etc and turn it off when you or the dogs are in the garden.

That will help keep the cats out of your garden in a humane way and your neighbour can keep feeding the cats without caussing you any inconvenience.

Also if they are not fixed cats roam more and breed like rabbits. Make sure your neighbour knows about low cost spay/neuter and uses it. Here for $15 you can get a feral cat spayed/neutered and shots.
