The mouse may have bitten him when he caught it and it sounds like he's got an infection in his lip. Your best bet is to take him to a vet asap so they can examine him and if it is an infection they'll be able to give him antibiotics.

Sassy, as usual, is absolutely right. My late, sweet Ernie was a champion mouser, too. He got it on his face once, too. I took him to the vet and just to be safe, they washed it out and put him on antibiotics (they didn't cost much). Make sure Guero has all his shots if he, like Ernie, is a mouser. Cats can "inherit" whatever diseases a mouse has. Try to make sure he doesn't actually eat the mouse as, if the mouse has ingested poison, it will make Guero sick as well. It's just an infection and if you take him to the doctor now, he'll be OK.

Please take your cat to the vet IMMEDIATELY! Your cat needs antibiotics and a rabies vaccine to ensure that it doesn't get an infection throughout its body. Hope kitty is okay.
