Izadore (Izzie)

Can you do me a favor? Before you get into names for your kitty, can you borrow a trap and get her to a vet, vaccinated, spayed and tested and out of the cold? She sounds like she is "feral", or wild, to me, so you'll need help because she won't like being in a trap and you could get hurt. Contact an animal welfare group in your area or your local animal warden to help you. You and your family will have to work with her a LOT to make friends with her. You will have to get her to trust you before you can make her into a pet. That's what I had to do with Izzie. I kept him in a cage for almost a month until he realized I wasn't going to hurt him. Now he is a lap cat! So it can be done. Good luck!

You could call her Woody - or Woodster - since you found her in the forest. Or how about Gray Dawntreader? (That's my humans' Sheltie mixes's name.)

Morgana - forever my soul

How about a special name that was the name of the Finnish forest goddess? Her name was Tuulikki, meaning "little wind". I love the sound of it & think it would be appropriate for the wild, free little spirit you found in the woods.

I think the name sounds like two-leekee, a soft feminine name but unusual.

We agree with Izzie - to the vet ASAP if not done already. We like Snowshine and Forrest for names. Our human great aunt has a beautiful little girl kitty named Forrest Gump! Snowball isn't unique but as your white is so pure white you do resemble a snowball! Callie and Boo

I was found in the wild also. I was just a baby, about 2 months old. I'm glad you found your kitty.

How about the name Willow (like a tree)?

Sabrina (ILM)

What an absolutely gorgeous calico she is!!! Some of that stand-off-ishness could just be calico cattitude (for which we are justly famous)!

Chels and I kind of like "Snow-princess" (because of the calico, and all that glorious white fur); we also like your choice of Goldeneyes.

You might want to spend some one-on-one time with her, see if she will tell you what her name is (sometimes kitties will do that), or let you know what she would prefer to be called.

My sisfur, Spot (ILM) was "Little Bit" until mom adopted her - Spottie chose her own name, and mom thought it was a perfect fit!

Good luck, and enjoy that beautiful girl of yours!

Purrrrs, Sabrina (the beautiful)

Tiki Tallulah Belle

Starshine Moonkitty

and possibly follow the earlier recommendations of dealing with a possibly feral cat safely - for yours and hers.

Gabby aka:

First of all, do follow Izzie's advise for handling and care for a feral cat/kitten.

I have had 2 (litter mates) feral kittens for about 2 months now and I didn't get them until they were nearly 3 months old. They no long hide from me, will take food from my fingers and one will even allow me to pet her - just don't pick me up!

since your foundling is hanging around humans, I doubt she is a true feral, more a reverted stray, so the chances are very good that she will tame down, if kept inside.

If you want a really funny nick name for her, you could go with "Tree Monkey" but for a name that, to me, seems like it will fit her purrsonality, I really like "TUULIKKI" and you could call her "Likki" for short.

Simba

I agree with Izzie - and I think you should call your cat something like:
Cloudpelt
Foresttail
Snowpelt
Snowpaw
Cloudpaw

or something like that - think of forest things and things that are white and try and go for something unique.

Or you could name the cat to coincide with what you believe would be her sign in the Zodiac.
Hope this helps some.
