What cd cause a bald spot in the top of a cat's head after an injury? What cd help hair grow back?

A friend has been feeding a feral cat. A few wks ago she saw he had an injurey on his head. The injury appears to be healing or healed, but now he is losing fur on top of his head. He is not tame enough to come close enough to handle or get a close up look. She wd appreciate any suggestions re the possible cause of fur loss and any suggestions what she cd do. The cat is eating and looks to be otherwise healthy for the time being. Is there a medication or supplement she should/could add to his food? Will the loss of fur
cause problems in the cold weather because of loss of body heat?

I am also feeding a feral cat with the same problem. He has been like this for over three years and has a large bald spot on his head and neck areas. He too is not tame enough for me to get near him. He keeps warm by going under some blankets on my front porch chair I have provided for him. He eats well and seems healthy otherwise. You could try putting some Vitamin C in his food which promotes healing. Just crush one pill and put it in his food daily. The feral cat I feed seems to have some type of flea allergy dermatitis. I'm not really sure. All you can do is provide good food and plenty of fresh water for this little kitty! Best of luck.
