We have a 10 week old healthy applehead siamese that we got from a breeder. He is biting and sratching and drawing
blood. He plays very hard by himself. Running and jumping and stalking. We try to pet him and hold him and he bites until he draws blood. We have tried to trim his nails but he will have none of that and flattens his ears and looks like a little devil. We are starting to get scared of him. He has been vet checked and he is really healthy. He has both wet and dry food and is growing like a weed. We got him at six weeks of age and we have had cats before. We have no children. Please help. Wits End. Sherry

Out of all 3 of my cats, only Delilah, will allow herself to be held and cuddled.Your kitten is like a toddler, just learning how wonderful he and the wide world are. The LAST thing he wants is to be restrained in any way. His running, jumping and stalking behavior is normal. Unless he is outright attacking you unprovoked (like not when you're trying to hold him)he is acting like a 10 week old kitten. He needs an outlet for his energy. Play with him with toys such as laser lights (keep the beam off his face), teaser/feather poles, teach him to chase and fetch a ball (ping-pong balls are fantastic), buy a "Kong" toy made for a small dog and put some of his favorite treats for him to try to get out. Go to the pet store and see what other kinds of interactive toys they have. Biting should NOT be tolerated as long as you are not provoking it by trying to restrain him. When he bites say "NO BITE!" and walk away.If he stalks you, keep a soda can of pennies close and shake it at him.
