Our new Rescue Kitten (5 Months old)Has suspected FIP he has responded to antibiotics, is this normal for FIP?

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and this little guy. Unfortunately, if it is truly FIP, there is no cure. He may have a secondary infection and that is what is responding to the antibiotics. Stay in close contact with your vet and you might want to ask for a definitive testing. Best of luck with him. We hope everything turns out OK.

There is no definitive testing for FIP while the animal is alive. It is a frustrating disease, in many aspects, one of which is the waiting part. If he is improving with antibiotics, it may be what Izzie said, or it may be that he does not have FIP afterall. Hope and pray that he has a different condition that can be diagnosed and cured in time. Best of luck to you and your little one.
