Oops! Looks like some of the data is missing. I'll will give you an answer on the data that IS there.

Chase, who I adopted from a rescue, also had chin acne. I suspect it was the combination of the food and the plastic bowls he ate out of. He was eating wet and dry food, so we eliminated the wet and switched him to a holistic brand of dry. We also use glass bowls and occasionally stainless steal. Also we put Neosporin on his chin and that helped a lot.
Hope this helps. :)

Perhaps need a repost? Feline acne can easily be cured with benzoyl peroxide products (Pyoben, Oxydex shampoo, etc.). However, there are several conditions that can resemble feline acne. These include Malassezia infection (yeast infection) of the chin, demodectic mange, deep bacterial follicle infections, usually with Staph bacteria or Pasteurella bacteria, ringworm (dermatophytosis) and immune mediated disease, especially eosinophilic granuloma complex. Several of these conditions are a little more likely in older cats, especially the bacterial and yeast infections which seem to take advantage of even minor decreases in immune system competency. And having been away for 2 weeks, the immune system could easily be compromised due to severe stress.

Recommend a repost to clarify actual question and, perhaps, elaborate on symptoms.

I would suggest, as Penelope has, that you repost with more symptoms. Also, if your kitty's condition is not getting better, then you need to revisit your vet so that she has the opportunity to re-examine Zoey and maybe prescribe something different. She has a visual of what Zoey's chin looks like and can take skin scrapings (sounds worse than it is)to examine under a microscope and diagnose further treatment. As Penelope describes, it could be many things that are affecting your Zoey, including something she picked up on her little adventure. But the only way to be sure is to revisit your vet.

Sam

We switched Sophia to stainless steel bowls (she had had plastic) when she had acne and it went away pretty quickly...you do have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected.
