No thats not normal and its dangerous for cats not to eat/drink as they can get liver failure within a day or two if they stop eating. Usually after an operation their appetite should come back quickly and they recover fast so something is seriously wrong. Call your vet or an emergency vet now and get him seen asap so they can treat him and try to feed him.

You need to take your cat to a vet IMMEDIATELY! Cats should not go without food or water for longer than 24-36 hrs. as it could cause liver and kidney failure. Your cat is probably severely dehydrated and needs to receive I.V. fluids at the vet's office. PLEASE TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET TODAY!
