You don't say how old your kitten is. If she's less than 5 weeks, she may not understand how to eat from a bowl yet. Try putting a little soupy food on your finger. If she laps it off, then get her to follow your finger to the food in the bowl (which should also be soupy so she can lap it). She'll get the hang of it eventually. Be patient.
