There are a lot of reasons a cat will not use the box and without knowing him or your lifestyle, we can only guess. Cats use their feces to mark as well as their urine. Have you gotten another cat? Is there one roaming about outside? How long since he's been to the vet? If he's got pain or is uncomfortable "back there", he thinks the box is causing his pain and won't use it. Have you changed boxes, litter or box locations? Has anything happened in his life that would stress him out? Cats stop using the box for 2 main reasons, one is health concerns and the other is stress. And, I'm convinced that the third reason is habit. Try putting more boxes out for him if you can, keep the one he has REALLY clean, and if he continues to use your bed as his box, at least call the vet.
