My cat is about 11 years old and for the past few months he has started to smell quite bad... we now think that it is coming from his salvia, his salvia looks thick and like a dark greyish colour.. he's not eating as well as he used to either, he's lost a lot of weight, he's drooling and also coughing a lot every so often .. is this normal or should i do something?

You should take your kitty in to see the vet. It could be a lot of things, it could be bacterial, it could be gastrointestinal, it could be dental, etc. Please take your kitty to see the vet as soon as possible.
