is it possible when two cats with differnt hair like shrort hair and long hair breed they get short hair kitttens becuas

my cousin has two cat tat brother but theu dont look like at all there were three of cats at the sheter there was one black kitten, the other brother was long hair with organge fur with white patches and 17lbs now look like a main coon with a black m on head, and third has black with little little orange on him. they belive they lie to them saying there were brothers to take them which been 7years all ready. i thought short hair cats mix with long fur they get short hair kittens its very very rare to get long fur from a long hair genes

Did you and your cousin know that a litter of kittens can have more than one father? This could be why all the kittens in that litter looked different. Izzie's mother was a short haired gray cat and he is a Maine Coon mix. Doesn't look anything like her.
