I don't know where you were going with this because your question was cut off but with kittens, a patch of hair loss on the head immediately brings ringworm to my mind. This is a nasty fungus that is contagious to humans. Is it a round patch? Is the skin underneath scaly? If so, please have you vet perform a skin culture. There are topical and oral medications that can cure it but if left untreated it will spread and become a gigantic pain in the butt to get rid of. Miss Allie had it when I got her and I got it on my face and it spread to 2 other kitties before I could get rid of it.
