You keep the fish in a suitably designed fish-tank with a lid on (pet store - not just put a lid on the poor fish) .... you keep the hamster in a room the cat isn't allowed in or is only in with you supervising, and you make more sensible decisions next time you buy pets. Which did you buy first cos if it was the cat, common sense should've prevailed that these smaller pets would be prey for your predator cat!
