About the only things you can "touch transfer" to your cats would be fleas or ringworm. If your cats are up-to-date on their shots and reasonably healthy, they should be OK. If you foster these cats, that's another issue. Things like FIP are airborne and can be contracted through contact with used litter. I used to do animal rescue and also worked with cats who were sick and I never transferred anything to my own animals. Take the usual precautions like hand-washing and keeping your own cats current on their vetting and you shouldn't have any worries.
