i got a cat recently a week back and its now set and happy at my place but the problem is that if i pick her in my arms

its a female one year or so year old and has a light grey colour.

Not all cats like to be picked up and held, especially kittens who would much rather be running around and exploring. Out of my 3 cats, only Delilah will tolerate being held and snuggled. Cats don't like to have their feet off the floor. It makes them feel like they're not "in control" and that's a big part of their personalities. If your cat doesn't want to be picked up, I wouldn't try. Cats can react by clawing and/or biting and it's not really their fault.
