It's difficult to tell from your question or from Mango's profile your kittys' histories. If they are not neutered or spayed, they need to be. Two unaltered or fixed cats of either sex will fight to the death to protect their territories, kittens, food, etc. Did you get them at the same time? If they were apart for any length of time, bringing the second cat in is like introducing a new cat. They don't understandabout "brotherhood" and all. Nutmeg may be letting Mango know that he's the boss. If the fighting is really nasty, you'll have to separate them. Put Nutmeg in "timeout" in a separate room until the situation calms down. It make take some time to teach Nutmeg that YOU are the boss and not him, so don't expect it to happen overnight. And if your kitties have not been to a vet recently, do take them in even if they are fixed. Sometimes when one animal isn't feeling well, the other does sense it and will "pick on" the one who isn't feeling up to snuff.
