Make sure the boxes are always cleaned. Some cats are very particular about their boxes. Make sure he can get in and out of the box easily without "mountain climbing" into it. Make sure the boxes are in private places, not in the middle of a busy area. Clean the places he poops with Nature's Miracle (Petsmart) to kill the smell. You may have to watch him and when he heads for under the couches, pick him up and gently put him in his box. Praise him if you see him using the box. There is also a litter called "Cat Attract" that entices cats to use the box. You can also pick up his poop and put it in the box. With patience and time, he will learn his potty manners!

8 weeks is still pretty young- he could be too far away from the box when he realizes he has to go, and cannot hold it because of his age. You should check with your vet to make sure he is okay also. Good luck!
