The last post reflects my opion exactly. Bombays are rare. But if you think he's half Bombay and half Savannah and that would make you love him more, and take better care of him, I'm sure he's half Bombay.

The short answer is- you can't! Unless you know for sure the two cats that were his parents and you have their papers you don't really know for sure if he has any pure breeds in his lineage, much less two and which specific breeds they are. Most cats are freely bred domestic cats, so if he was bred on the streets or in someone's backyard odds are if he has any purebred it's only half or less- a Domestic Short Hair/Bombay mix or a Domestic Short Hair/American Shorthair mix would be more likely, as a Bombay/American Shorthair mix would require two irresponsible owners of unaltered uncommon purebred cats to let their pets get loose in close proximity. Unlike dog mutts which often have strong traits from one or more dominant breed (it's easy to tell a Chihuahua mix from a Great Dane mix from a Dachshund mix) where you can easily guess cats don't vary that much in size and shape and most don't have a breed, so when in doubt- domestic!
