Tapioca

Hi! Should I travel in the cabin or in the cargo hold?

I'll be traveling with my mom from Tokyo to San Jose, Costa Rica (stopping for a few hours in Atlanta). Tokyo-Atlanta: 12.5 hours, Atlanta-San Jose: 4 hours
My mom thinks that since the flight is quite long I would be more comfortable in the cargo hold. However, she is very worried with some stories she has heard about pets traveling in the cargo area.

Any suggestions???
Thanks!!!

I think you both will be more comfortable in the cabin. If they allow cats in the cabin. I'm sure the cargo hold would be okay. I think Tapioca would be happier with his mommy. And mommy wouldn't worry about Tapioca.

It depends on the airline. Many airlines put animals in with the luggage and they are not supervised. If I were flying with my cat, I would have her in the cabin with me. Ask the airline for details about how the Tapioca would be traveling in the cargo area www.sniksnak.com

The cargo hold is real cold!
I think small pets can travel in the cabin if the carrier fits under the seat. Please check with your airlines.
I would recommend some Bach flower remedy or the likes to help Tapioca be calm and relaxed.

I'd go cabin. Mommy took me in the cabin and it was nice. I didn't like the pressure changes but I loved all the attention. I got lots of petting's and everyone wanted to make sure I was ok.

It's warmer in cabin and less scary for little kittens. Plus, I got to stay with mommy in the airport. If I traveled in cargo hold then I'd have been shipped off with the checked bags.

The only con is the price. Delta charges 150 extra to take a cat in cabin but mommy says it's worth it
