			<p>Also, some animals can go longer than others without eating- cats are not one of them!  Cats have about 24-48 hours of no food intake before their livers will start to shut down, poisoned by metabolizing too much of their own fat.  Whatever is making her stop eating in the first place may be an easy fix if you get her into the vet now but once her liver has started to fail it's really an uphill battle, as liver failure will further ruin her appetite and the liver can't regenerate if she's still losing weight.  If you can't see your regular vet today please find the closest 24/7 emergency clinic so you can get some food into her!<br /><br />
