For 4 days my female cat is staying on top of the window blinds and using the kitchen sink for a litter box. Why?

Bezalel Tiger

Is there a child, another pet or home disturbance that would make her want to climb away? Is she older and not feeling well with no other place to hide? Have you tried to coax her down with toys or treats? ^_^

As Bezalel mentioned, whenever there is a sudden change in behavior, Catsters always suggest a trip to the vet just to make sure there are no health issues. Changes in litter box habits or refusing to use it altogether and hiding, which is what your cat is attempting to do, are 2 red flags of not feeling well. If her vet checks her out and she is fine, then research what has gone on in your life recently. Even a small change in your routine that never bothered you could have freaked out your cat. Once they were fixing our driveway apron and Izzie hid under the bed for 2 days until the noisy machinery left. Storms in your area? A person she doesn't like visit? New pet in the house? Did you move the furniture? It's hard to determine exactly what will stress out each individual cat, but since your know your cat, you should be able to determine what might have happened, even a stray outside that just showed up. But do get her to the vet first to make sure she's OK.
