Cat's whiskers got cut off,,,can I apologize

I posted an answer today that I feel I have to clarify. A person was asking how a cat would react to having its whiskers cut off. The person said it was "by accident". As a former animal rescue volunteer, I'd heard stories of people who enjoy cutting off a cat's whiskers and then watching it lose it's balance as it stumbles around. That's what I meant by saying it constituted abuse of the cat. Our friend Allie's owner kindly posted and said that she had accidentally snipped off her cat's whiskers during a grooming session. I sincerely hope that this is what happened to the cat in question and that this was not a deliberate act. Again, I apologize.
