What kind of spasms? There is something called feline hyperesthesia syndrome - my sister's cat has it - but this needs to be diagnosed by a vet. Is the cat having a seizure? I would see the vet if you are concerned.

It's not normal for cats to spasm. There could be something wrong like the other poster said or did your cat have some form of head trauma? Your kitty needs to go to the vet for a proper diagnosis and medication.

You need to be a bit clearer. For example, it's normal and common for a cat to twitch in its sleep--which shows that it's sleeping very deeply. If that's what you're talking about, no problem. If you're talking about your cat having spasms when it's awake, you need to go to a vet.
