cat going frequent urine

7 month old is playing and acting normal but for the last 4 to 5 hours is frequently urinating in his litter box (small amounts)

I would take him to the vet for a check-up. Frequent urination is a sign of crystals or a urinary tract infection, which are more common in males than females. Add wet kitten food to his diet if you have not yet done so (like MaxKitten in chicken and liver or chicken and oceanfish) to keep up his fluid intake, and change his water bowl each day. If you take him in within the next week he should be okay after the vet runs the necessary tests. ^_^
